  • We are looking for experienced *female support workers to assist with supporting our client (21yrs) living in Frome, with personal care, food and drink preparation, moving and handling including use of a full hoist and assistance to help her in accessing the community and leisure activities.
    Our client is a young lady with Cerebral Palsy and Autism and is passionate about living. She uses an AAC device for communication. She enjoys swimming, going to music events, her holiday home in Bournemouth and going out for food and various other events. The shifts can be single handed or double handed. Our client has a team of treating professionals involved in her care which support with advice and recommendations to maintain both her physical ability and functional independence where possible.
    Our client is transitioning from college back home as of July 2026 and it is desirable for her to have someone interested in casual work followed by contracted hours following our clients return home in July 2026. Training and support will be provided in the role as needed. Experience with a WAV is preferable but not essential, confidence driving 1 hour plus is also preferable.

    Working Hours:
    This is a bank position
    Current Shifts: Every other weekend returning home from college
    Friday 1:30pm – 9am (Collect from College in Stroud and overnight sleep)
    Saturday 9am – 9am (24-hour sleep-in shift)
    Saturday 9am – 6pm
    Sunday 6pm – 1:30pm (Sleep shift and drive to college in Stroud)
    Availability for additional shifts during the college holidays when client is home full time.
    Following July 2026 when our client returns home from college, we will be keen to offer full time team and there will be contracted hours available. Shifts from returning home are on average:
    9am-9am (sleep and 24 hours)
    9am-6pm (double up shifts)
    There is some flexibility in this
     
    Rates of Pay:
    Weekday: £16.50
    Weekend: £17.50
    Sleeping Night Weekdays: £12.21
    Sleeping Night Weekend: £12.50

    Essential Requirements:
    •  Clear DBS Check
    • A full driving licence
    • Experience of moving & handling - To have the ability to use a full hoist system single handed
    • Previous care experience
    • Demonstration of good communication skills
    • An empathetic and compassionate personality
    • AAC device experience or willingness for additional training if needed.
    • Dysphagia awareness.
    Desirable Requirements:
    •  Experience with an AAC device (communication device)
    • NVQ 2 or 3 or an equivalent in care
    • Experience of driving a Wheelchair accessible vehicle (25 years and older for insurance) with confidence to drive 1hour + (college in Stroud and holiday home in Bournemouth)
